Speakeasy takes great pleasure in organizing and being a part of your private or corporate function. Our restored private dining room is available on the first floor equipped with private bar and amenities, it boast original fittings from when the building was first built in 1885 with high timber ceilings, Baltic pine floors, fire places and period windows overlooking Chapel Street. The room can be set to seat small groups for an intimate experience or up to 45 for a larger event. The room can also cater for standing cocktail functions of up to 90 people. It’s available night and day for casual or more formal settings with a choice of coursed menus or canapés for cocktail parties. Drink packages can be tailored to suit all occasions. The room is fitted with a Bluetooth projector, internal sound system, IPOD connectivity or a DJ can be arranged privately or booked through Speakeasy. The room may be decorated for each individual event personally or professionally through The Style Co.

The rear of Speakeasy houses a hidden open-air courtyard; this area is also available for functions, small areas can be booked or the entire courtyard can be reserved (min. spend applies). The area is equipped to cater for cold or rainy weather with retractable awnings and heaters.

A minimum spend of $2000 (Friday and Saturday evenings) is required for the private dining room. Which is made up from food and drink purchases. There are no additional costs or room hire fees.

booking terms and conditions

 

1. capacity

Outside has a total capacity of 120 people, however, the space can be broken into sections. 
The upstairs dining room has a total capacity of 90 people for a standing event or 45 people seated with various table plans available. 
The entire venue can be hired out for special events, with a total capacity of 200.

2. requirements

Any group booking with more than 12 guests needs to choose from one of the following set menus to dine in the restaurant.

3. confirmation

deposit of $300 is required to confirm all large bookings. 
Menu choices need to be confirmed at least 14 days prior
. Final numbers need to be confirmed 48 hours prior, as this will reflect the amount charged to your final bill.

4. dietary

dietary requirements can be catered for.  A minimum of 48 hours notice is required

5. cakeage

Cost of $3 per person applies, This is for Speakeasy to store, cut and serve. This fee can be waived or capped in some cirumstances

6. payment

Accounts are to be settled on the day of function with only one account per table. Catered food options can be paid once chosen. Paying with credit card will incur fees indicated on booking form

7. duration

The room will be available for a 5 hour period for the function. The venue is licensed until 1am. The venue can be made available on the day of the function if set up is required.

8. cancellation

Cancellations must be made in writing, and if made less than 21 days prior to the function will forfeit the deposit
